As we developed our concept, which we call Environment-friendly Printing, we carefully examined every step in the offset printing process to identify any and all points where possible impacts on the environment could be lessened. From environmentally-sensitive graphic design to the packaging of the final product in used cartons, we continually seek ways to minimize waste and the use of hazardous materials, and to encourage recycling.
Some of our ideas have met with skepticism from other graphic arts professionals. We had been warned that it would be more costly to avoid traditional materials and processes. We have found it to be just the opposite, and our lower costs are passed along to our customers in the form of lower overall pricing. There are a few services offered by traditional printers which we discourage, or choose not to provide at all. Usually, when we explain the reasons for not providing these services, our customers decide against them as well.
Assuming you share that level of concern for the environment, you can and should exercise your economic power as an environmentally-sensitive consumer by carefully specifying the components necessary for the completion of your project, namely: graphic design, paper, ink, and the techniques and processes use in offset print production. We at EcoGraphics are ready to help you through the process.
