Full Color Printing

Standard Colors Full Color Printing Metallic Inks

Full color printing, called process color printing, requires special equipment, highly skilled technicians, a great deal of experience and daily practice.  These factors make full color printing quite a bit more expensive than printing with spot colors, and put it out of reach for most of our customers.

When their customers request process color printing, most small printing companies, and even some larger ones, broker the job out to other printing companies which specialize in this kind of printing and have the necessary equipment, skill and experience to easily handle the job.  The original printer then marks up the job before delivering it to their customer.

From an environmental perspective, process color printing involves all of the chemical processing associated with at least four pieces of photographic film and at least four metal printing plates for each side of each original.   Because color-to-color registration and the density adjustments to each of at least four separate inks are critical, considerable time, paper and other materials can be wasted before everything is just right.  Chlorine-bleached bright white, coated paper, which is more difficult to recycle, is the paper of choice for this kind of printing.

If you really think your project will benefit from it, and you can afford it, we can refer you to any number of companies which will be able to help you with process color.  At EcoGraphics, we can help you produce an attractive alternative design for your publication which makes effective use of one or more spot colors while keeping the impact on the environment and on your printing budget to a minimum.
